Spotsdad Posted September 3, 2023 #1 Posted September 3, 2023 While out for a ride today I noticed my throttle grip was slipping. I would imagine lots have had this problem. What did you do to fix it? Temporary fix? Permanent fix? I don't want to buy new grips because I like the ones that are on so fixing the ones on it is what I'm after. thanks Spotsdad (Dick)
Marcarl Posted September 4, 2023 #2 Posted September 4, 2023 Take it off, clean real well, let it dry, spray with hair spray and put back on immediately.
Spotsdad Posted September 4, 2023 Author #3 Posted September 4, 2023 Is there a certain kind of hairspray? I tried that but the kind I bought didn't work. I don't know anything about hairspray so any info would really help
cimmer Posted September 5, 2023 #4 Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) What you are looking for is something with some stickiness to it so it would hold the grip to the throttle. Look for a hairspray that claims a lot of holding power or a spray on glue.. You are trying to make sure the grip sticks to the white throttle. When I installed my new grips, they included a small bottle of superglue to spread over the bars and inside the grip. Rick F. Edited September 5, 2023 by cimmer
Spotsdad Posted September 5, 2023 Author #5 Posted September 5, 2023 I ended up using lacquer and ordered a new set. I needed to do something yesterday cause it was such a nice day I just had to go for a ride. Thanks for the replies. Spotsdad (Dick)
