GaStar Posted July 18, 2023 #1 Posted July 18, 2023 How do I get this off? I tried to pry up with nylon prybars but was afraid I would break it. I’m trying to get to the cruise switch so I can clean the contacts. The resume/accelerate side doesn’t respond very well. TIA!
Marcarl Posted July 19, 2023 #2 Posted July 19, 2023 Look at the switch setup from the bottom, there may be 2 screws holding things together. Watch out for little springs and things, work over a towel or such.
saddlebum Posted July 20, 2023 #3 Posted July 20, 2023 Park the bike on an old carpet before you take it apart. Dropped parts don't bounce well on carpet.
GaStar Posted July 21, 2023 Author #4 Posted July 21, 2023 I had it apart to the point of getting it all out. The kill switch would move up and down but was held in by the red switch on the outside. There were no screws or fasteners that I could see. Yes, little parts like springs that are in there for the cruise cancel are dangerous. I did not lose those thank goodness.
