paul gale Posted June 7, 2008 #1 Posted June 7, 2008 I have a new gel battery for my ride (83 venture) they said all I had to do was ground the wire for the warning light and it would stop flashing ,it doesn't .we even tried grounding to the battery and still it flashes ,can anyone help with this problem .

I shorted the ends of mine when I changed batteries a few years ago but I read later after I came here that the guys were using a resister to short the ends but I don't remember the value. Sorry, maybe someone else will show up soon with more intelligence then me. Jerry

GeorgeS Posted June 7, 2008 #4 Posted June 7, 2008 Do NOT, hook the wire Directly to 12 volts, UNTIL, you install the Resistors. !!!! 12 volts on this wire with burn up the computer !!

You might want to try it again, Mike. I did the same thing as far as getting both value resistors. One worked (I don't remember which, I've slept since then:rotf:) and it was really easy.
