oldschool Posted June 6, 2008 #1 Posted June 6, 2008 My question is.......Can I take the plastic off my 83 VR and take it all to a regular auto body shop and get it painted? Is there any difference in having them paint it or is there some special motorcycle paint out there that is supposed to be used?

Nothing special, automotive pain works just fine on our plastic, it's all in the prep work before you paint.
Tombo Posted June 23, 2008 #3 Posted June 23, 2008 Since Yamaha decided not to provide a factory painted trunk lip light for the 2007 RSV I had to purchase one in primer. I took it to a local body shop last week and they quoted $75 to paint it to match the Galaxy Blue. Still waiting to see how it comes out. I hope to get it back and mounted this week. Tombo
