FROG MAN Posted June 4, 2008 #1 Posted June 4, 2008 It always happens before I leave on vacation something always something. Bad storms one after another all day and night. Internet went down last night now the phone is out but internet is back up.If we get more rain might loose the foot bridge again. The stream is up no way to get in or OUT!! Were leaving Friday night I hope. Trees down, back yard full of water. I stopped by the camp this evening and my brand new locust rail fence is busted by a fallen locust tree. I never told MamaMo yet but that tree hit a ROSE!!

juggler Posted June 5, 2008 #7 Posted June 5, 2008 I just checked the radar for your area and it looks like locusts are on their way also. Build a sturdy shelter and dig in till it's over.

I never told MamaMo yet but that tree hit a ROSE!! hey the good part is no one stole the ROSE BUSH so the tree had a soft spot to land but then again with all the problems keeping that rose planted in that spot makes one think maybe ya should move it over a few feet serous though hope every one and everything makes it through the storms ok take care and be safe Dray

Sterling Turner Posted June 5, 2008 #11 Posted June 5, 2008 If you see the animals gathering in pairs, You might want to leave a little sooner
FROG MAN Posted June 5, 2008 Author #13 Posted June 5, 2008 Water is back down so we can cross the creek. I'm taking the day off tomorrow to cut tree's from the yard. We still have no phone at home or electric at the camp. Looks like we survived this one OK. Bags are packed to leave now to load the 84 on the truck.
mini-muffin Posted June 5, 2008 #14 Posted June 5, 2008 You all have a great trip. BY the way we have a big fire here in Hyde, Washington, and Tyrell counties the smoke is heading out to the outerbanks at the moment. http://www.witntv.com/home/headlines/19456249.html Here's a link to one of the local news stations, with the story. It's pretty nasty. We had the smoke tuesday and I thought something nearby was on fire. Have a safe trip. When I get out to see you guys I'm gonna have to head to Elizabeth City and go the long way to avoid the fire and smoke. Margaret Margaret
