pegscraper Posted June 22, 2008 #26 Posted June 22, 2008 Yup, carbs. I tried this several times. No dice.
BuddyRich Posted June 22, 2008 #27 Posted June 22, 2008 Must be something to do with 4 vs 2 cylinders. The first time it happened we were following hdhtr back from the Bakersfield meet. All of a sudden we hear a big bang and see smoke coming from the rear for a second. Everybody behind him slowed real quick and asked over the CB how his rear tire was, We thought he had a blow out. He said "Nope, just accidently hit the kill switch at 70". Since then a few of us do it for fun.
Squeeze Posted June 22, 2008 #28 Posted June 22, 2008 I tried this on my wife's V Star 1100 the other day, as the kill switch on hers will still actually kill the engine. I can't get it to work. The engine just starts right back up and keeps going. Where's the bang? You should open the Throttle two to four Times before switching back. You need some Fuel sucked through the Engine into the Exhaust before it would explode in the Collactor or Mufflers.
