10-4 on nixing the fork seal project, means more time to lend a hand and meet people!!!!!!

Your in Ohio, close enough for some of the Michigan members to come down to your place and give a hand with the forks. There will be lots of info too, it's going to be a great day but it will go by FAST!

On a more serious note, I had planned on showing how to do a valve adjustment on my bike, as the gaskets are fresh and I know it won't leak after putting her back together. Just a quick run through on how to use the tool and feeler gauges, how to remove and replace a shim and recheck. I knew I didn't want to take all day, as I got cheesecake to eat!!!!!!

Thanks for the reminder, though, as I'm sure that we can become consumed by this stuff.

Dan

Dan,

I know what a PIA the valve covers are to get off in the bike, not a fun job at all and pretty time consuming. I know many appreciate the effort of it and thank you for wanting to help the members out :happy34:

If she wasn't so busy with the cheesecakes, I'd let her polish'em up for me just to show other folks how to do it!!!!!

Just tossing this out there. Since Dano wants to be that helpful, can the valve adjustment shims be done with a head that is not in the bike? Then he can show everyone and it wont be time consuming. Also, someone would have to bring a head. :big-grin-emoticon:

A Head only is half of the Job. You need to turn the Engine at the Flywheel for 360 Degerees and sometimes 430 Degrees. A Head could only show how to use the Feeler Gauge and how to take the Shim out.
