Ken Parker Posted June 1, 2008 #1 Posted June 1, 2008 My wife and I are planning a trip up the Natchez Trace Pkwy. We are leaving from Houston on Monday the 30th and plan on styaying in Natchez that night. We plan on the trip up to Nashville and back home to take 5 or so days. What I would like to know; does anyone know of a nice motel somewhere up the parkway 250 or 300 miles north of Natchez? Also we would like a different route back to Houston perhaps through Arkansas and then back south, any suggestions on route and where to stay? Thanks
Al Bates Posted June 1, 2008 #2 Posted June 1, 2008 Hello Ken, Eck put together a Natchez Trace ride a few months ago. Below so post from the ride. Not sure if you know about the "The Loveless Cafe." at the end of the Natchez Trace. (Nashville) It’s a great place to stop after finishing the Natchez Trace ride. They have motorcycle parking in front of the place, and just may be a entertainer there eating also, "The Loveless Cafe." http://www.lovelesscafe.com/famousquotes.html http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16016 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20146 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21318 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21503 Al
tazmocycle Posted June 2, 2008 #3 Posted June 2, 2008 tupelo is near the 260 mark, 320 will put you near the tri-cites( tuscumbia, sheffield and florence) area which has some good motel and eats where hwy 72 and 43 meet. also helen keller birth place is there and the alabama music hall of fame has a lot of things to see. if you want to eat lunch around the shiloh, tn battleground there's hagy's fish motel on the tn river just pass the park entrance, a nice little side trip, just take hwy 25 in ms and when you leave shiloh just hit hwy 64 and run right back to the trace. there is some construction on the trace from waterloo, al just pass collinwood, tn. the trip to hagy's will get you past all that. when you get to natchez, ms make sure to pick up a trace map that shows all the places to see, it'll help you along the way to keep up with where you are. the ms crafts center is a great place to see if you have time, they have artist there most time doing differant craft work and demos. hope you have a great time and enjoy the trace.
Ken Parker Posted June 2, 2008 Author #4 Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks for all the information. I never considered construction information, that really helps.
