tooldood Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 It has been just 1 week ago that I confirmed that I don't bounce as well as I used to... Last Monday was a beautiful day for a ride. I used the excuse that I had a Amazon return to take to the UPS store to jump on the bike for a quick 80 mile round trip. Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish the ride. As I was on my way home, I topped a small rise to see a stopped vehicle facing me in my lane (on this country 2 lane). Hard braking was causing a skid and rather than lay it down, I opted to try to avoid on the ditch side. Over a driveway and into the ditch / lawn, the RSV stopped and that is when I discovered that I don't bounce anymore. The ER told me that my left collarbone was broken and a few days later a surgeon left me know it was shattered. So, the road to recovery is before me. It feels like my rib-cage is bruised and a few minor scrapes to go along with the collar bone. Amazingly, the bike did better than me. I'll get it to the bike doctor soon, but it has minor damage. 1
ragtop69gs Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Ahalf assed bounce is better than a total splat! That scenario is my biggest fear on the twisty mountain backroads where I live. I hope you heal up quickly and correctly.
tooldood Posted May 16, 2023 Author Posted May 16, 2023 Yeah, I hope it heals up quickly too. The cage driver was pulled over facing traffic so he could 'check the mailbox ' without getting out of the car. He then kept saying 'I just froze!'
tooldood Posted May 16, 2023 Author Posted May 16, 2023 What are the fairings (cowling) made out of?? Are they the same ABS of the 1st Gen?
