Bar end removal

Wanting to install after market grips. How do you remove the bar end weights ? tried prying off the cap at end of weights -but just seems to "peel" and does not come off. Was thinking perhaps screw under cap.

Got the caps off the bar ends with a thin knife. Next problem....how do you loosen the switch housing ( installing after market grips)  the one obvious screw is very difficult to access with a screwdriver. Are there any other screws hiding away somewhere ?
