  I remember a thread a while back about sockets that are hard to keep track of.   I believe it was 10mm, and in my case 12mm seem to have legs as well.

  I was at a Tractor Supply picking up softener salt and, as usual, had to peruse the bins of cool stuff up near the registers when I saw the answer to my 10mm socket problem.

A while back I decided that I was tired of looking for my 10mm 1/4 drive socket and went on ebay and bought ten for about $10, I don't think I have lost a single one since. They seem to be good six-point sockets.
