dharnie Posted May 29, 2008 #1 Posted May 29, 2008 Does the 2nd gen RSV use the same crankcase oil for its hydralic clutch as multiplate wet clutch or is it separate?
Squeeze Posted May 29, 2008 #2 Posted May 29, 2008 The Clutch is not sperate. The Plates run in the Motoroil, same as the Transmission and the Middle Drive Gear. One Oil Pan, one Oil for everything except the final Drive.
dharnie Posted May 29, 2008 Author #3 Posted May 29, 2008 sqeeze - that is what I thought (too lazy to look up in manual) but I read somewhere here on a post that this owner's RSV shifted quieter and smoother after he changed its "clutch oil". So that sort threw me a curve ball into thinking that I missed something somewhere along the line.
Squeeze Posted May 29, 2008 #4 Posted May 29, 2008 I've read that Post also, but i think the Guy refered to 'Clutch Oil' meaning changing the Brake Fluid from the Clutch Mastercylinder to the Clutch Slave Cylinder.
dharnie Posted May 29, 2008 Author #5 Posted May 29, 2008 Well that makes sense then - thanks for clearing this up for me.
Guest BUSAJOE4U Posted June 11, 2008 #6 Posted June 11, 2008 So it seems there is no clutch adjustment, my levers doesnt feel spongy. but very close to the bar. Fluid is full in the rez. only 13k on the bike. Tell me it cant need a clutch already! Any thoughts? THX

Or releases? There is no adjustments, but you may need to bleed it.
