Freebird Posted June 16, 2022 #1 Posted June 16, 2022 Eileen had a doctor's appointment today and decided to take my truck instead of the Camaro. Probably a good thing because I don't know how the Camaro would have faired. She is fine, as is the driver of the other vehicle, but my truck isn't so good. 2
Marcarl Posted June 16, 2022 #2 Posted June 16, 2022 That's an opps. Could be costly. Glad she and the other one are Ok. Gonna need a hammer and punch before a little bit of mud. 1
M61A1MECH Posted June 16, 2022 #4 Posted June 16, 2022 Glad everyone is OK, that should buff right out and the fog light still works. 1
dueyk1111 Posted June 16, 2022 #5 Posted June 16, 2022 good thing it was a toyota. glad all are ok! 1

Yes, I have pretty much accepted the fact that it is going to be a while. I didn't crawl underneath and look at the frame and etc. If I had to guess, I would figure that they will repair it and not total it. If I'm correct, I expect it will be quite a while before I get it back. Luckily my wife has a car and I have a Dodge Caravan that I drive more than the truck to to work. So I will be okay, not happy but okay without it. I would actually be surprised if they total it. Hope they do but I'm not counting on it. It's as 2018 with about 48,000 miles on it. Value is around 35,000 so it will take a lot to total it.
etcswjoe Posted June 16, 2022 #8 Posted June 16, 2022 I will echo what everyone else has said and say that I am glad she is okay. 1

cowpuc Posted June 16, 2022 #11 Posted June 16, 2022 So sorry this happened to you Eileen but sooo glad you are ok and others involved too! @Freebird, please give your precious bride a hug for Tip and I and tell her its all going to be ok. Trucks, cars, houses and bikes can ALL be replaced or fixed but she is irreplaceable. PRAYERS UP! 1
Freebird Posted June 16, 2022 Author #13 Posted June 16, 2022 Well, they called today to tell me they have totaled the truck. 1 2
Red Ryder Posted June 16, 2022 #14 Posted June 16, 2022 Very glad everyone is okay Don. Think walmart has a special on bondo and white duck tape, lol.
BlueSky Posted June 16, 2022 #15 Posted June 16, 2022 If they give you today's inflated price for that truck you should make out okay until you go buy a new one. I look occasionally at new trucks thinking maybe to replace my old 2002 F150 but not at today's prices. It's going to have to blow up for me to get that much incentive.

N3FOL Posted June 17, 2022 #21 Posted June 17, 2022 @Freebird When I saw the picture, I already had a big hunch the truck may be totalled...so glad to know Eileen is ok. Hope you get more or almost close to what you paid for from your insurance. I have a 21 OR and love it very much. The 22 Pros are very nice. Happy shopping for a new truck. 1
larrydr Posted June 17, 2022 #22 Posted June 17, 2022 There is benefit to riding in a truck , better protection .. And just plain more metal and more distance between you and the other traffic 1
Motorcycle Mike Posted June 17, 2022 #23 Posted June 17, 2022 Glad everyone is OK. That looked like a total loss to me. I sure wouldn't want it back. 1

saddlebum Posted June 18, 2022 #25 Posted June 18, 2022 Just saw this very happy no one seriously injured. See what the buy back is on the truck than calculate how much aluminum duct tape and spray cans it will require to fix it. You could end up ahead of the game. 1
