buddy Posted May 29, 2008 #8 Posted May 29, 2008 One thing Bill, Make sure you use the cruise control... If not you will find yourself doing 85-90mph easy... This engine is so smooth you will not know it untill you look at the speedometer.... I have to use the cruise or I'll be doing 80 real easy.... And be careful on the throttle. I know you have racing bikes - that would eat up most anything around!!, So Don't be fooled because this is a touring bike. This Wing will make you loose your grip real quick if your not careful. You also might be surprised to see that your new Wing will be pretty close to your Yamaha's in the curves as well, I sure was. My Wing does just as good as my 83 beast!!! Don't get me wrong I love my 83 beast very much and its staying for good!!!!!But these Newer Wings are way better than the older models. OK enough said will See you soon my friend but untill then send us some photos..... P.S. Bill check your coolant over flow bottle when you get there. On the left side of bike behind the side cover by driver foot peg. After getting home I found mine to be empty and found out later from the dealer that they come that way from the factory, my dealer droped the ball on that part but not major. Buddy
RoadKill Posted May 29, 2008 #9 Posted May 29, 2008 heading out 5am friday morning for arkansas to pick up my new goldwing. Wife and I looked yesterday in Litchfield. If I had mine sold I would have bought one! Just couldn't swing the $$ in a trade and let them make the extra $2500. If anyone wants to buy my 2003 for $10,500 just PM me:thumbsup: and we'll talk!

Eck Posted May 29, 2008 #17 Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) I think I will wait till later this year before I look for one: And check out Bills new GW here... FENNER_GL1800 Talking GL-1800.exe Supposedly, (could be faulse) but the Honda Motor Company announced its plans for the new 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing touring bike. The new Goldwing will replace the industry-leading GL-1800 Goldwing which went into production in 2001. The 2009 GL-2000 Goldwing will feature a larger 2.0 litre (2000 cc) 6-cylinder engine matched to a new 6-speed transmission. Edited May 29, 2008 by Eck
CrazyHorse Posted May 29, 2008 #18 Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) That Honda announcement was fake but I think they are coming out with a new one in 2010. Now only if Yamaha would upgrade their bike lineup and start embracing some of the technology out there and make a top notch touring bike like a GW or BMW. I like Honda products have a watercraft and 2 vehicles that are Honda just not a fan of the GW motor sticking out the sides interfering with the feet. I do like the V4 setup though. Congrats on your new wing Bill. Edited May 29, 2008 by CrazyHorse
