Pasta Burner Posted May 6, 2022 #2 Posted May 6, 2022 One of them will short to ground, the other would be hot.
gorski Posted May 6, 2022 Author #3 Posted May 6, 2022 trying to avoid blowing a fuse anyone know for sure?
Freebird Posted May 6, 2022 #4 Posted May 6, 2022 Best to use a meter to check it but I'm 99% sure that the brown/yellow wire is hot. Should be able to look at the back of the current receptacle and determine.
gorski Posted May 6, 2022 Author #5 Posted May 6, 2022 Thanks Freebird, yes it is the brown/yellow wire. Just probed it to be sure Thanks

Sorry I wasn’t meaning to just stick a jumper wire in and ground it if that’s what you thought. My intention was to use a meter and the wire that is “short to ground” or I guess better said common with ground is your negative. More than likely the black and green are not hot.
gorski Posted May 6, 2022 Author #7 Posted May 6, 2022 Hey no problem, didn't think that at all, put a probe on it and found it, it's the brown/yellow wire that's hot Thanks for reaching out enjoy the weekend!
saddlebum Posted May 7, 2022 #8 Posted May 7, 2022 a test light or voltmeter with one lead connected to ground or the batterys neg post is the surest way.
gorski Posted May 7, 2022 Author #9 Posted May 7, 2022 yep that's what I did, remembered I had a test light
