I watched a V Star 1100 top a hill too fast, lock up, and blow a stop sign across a 4 lane divided highway today. He cleared the Southbound cars, one Northbound, and got t-boned by a minivan. He’ll live to tell the story but he’s banged up pretty bad. The bike is done. The rider told me he was on his way to a funeral, my response was was he was damn close to going to his own.  The northbound that barely missed him was driven by a woman that lost her husband in a bike crash a few weeks ago.

It scares me when I encounter riders that ride for noise and speed. Those attributes seem to negate common sense and safety all too often.

Scary.  I always assume the worst case scenario is awaiting me on the other side of hill or around a blind curve where I can't see.   Drop a gear, slow down and put my fingers on the clutch/brake, just in case.  Pays off a very small % of the time, but keeps me 100% alive.
