ReinyRooster Posted April 6, 2022 #1 Posted April 6, 2022 Well riding season is finally getting here and I want to mount my GoPro on my 09 RSV. Looking for suggestions/pictures on how/where people have mounted theirs.
videoarizona Posted April 8, 2022 #2 Posted April 8, 2022 I tried mounting mine on the bars...nope. looking through the windshield can be a problem when the sun hits the shield at an angle. Honestly couldn't find a spot. Was thinking of my helmet. Gave up on that too. I suppose I could mount it to the front of the windshield...on top. It will be in my life of sight. So that's not attractive... But... In other words, I haven't found a place yet..... Do let me know if you do. I'm frustrated.
XV1100SE Posted April 8, 2022 #3 Posted April 8, 2022 I have mine mounted on the left side of the handlebars and use the RAM mount. They have different lengths of extenders and I ordered one that puts the camera far enough to the side to be clear of the windscreen. 1
videoarizona Posted April 8, 2022 #4 Posted April 8, 2022 Does the mount vibrate? Most Ram mounts I used to use for work would vibrate when extended more than 6 inches or so.
XV1100SE Posted April 8, 2022 #5 Posted April 8, 2022 Cameras have image stabilization. And don't forget....we are talking about a smooth running Venture...not a HD that rattles and shakes. 🙂 1
etcswjoe Posted April 8, 2022 #6 Posted April 8, 2022 I have a ram mount on my handle bars, but I have found on the helmet works best for me.
ReinyRooster Posted April 8, 2022 Author #7 Posted April 8, 2022 Ya, I have a ton of different mounts but none that I trust to stay steady enough to avoid vibration if I wanna get outside of the windscreen.
videoarizona Posted April 8, 2022 #8 Posted April 8, 2022 (edited) That's what I wanted to do as well. Again, the only place I can think of and still be able to reach it... is in front of windshield. Maybe just above the speedo in center. Edited April 8, 2022 by videoarizona Spelling
etcswjoe Posted April 11, 2022 #9 Posted April 11, 2022 You can control your GoPro via your smartphone and not have to reach it, however I would recommend running a charging cable to it or the battery will drain fast, also have your passenger do the controlling.

Hmmm… doesn’t the passenger always do the controlling?? 1
