larrydr Posted March 28, 2022 #1 Posted March 28, 2022 I am running some Carb problems on my 83 1200 , and rather than put a large amount of cash into the old carbs I would make a single Carb manifold ...The difficulty I see is getting the fuel jet sizes right ...I have built manifolds before , it does take some time to the fit right ... I have a Carb from a Chevy S10 4 cylinder truck ...The local muffler shop will bend me short 90 degree tubes ... Please someone tell that I am crazy and that I need to see my doctor ..
campfire12 Posted March 28, 2022 #2 Posted March 28, 2022 Its been done before. There should be some threads on this site someware on the process. i thought they was useing vw carb but i might be wrong. I think throttle response was the big problem. 1
BlueSky Posted March 28, 2022 #3 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) I think you can buy manifolds for this purpose. Try ebay. I just googled and there are some already made. https://www.google.com/search?q=yamaha+venture+4+carb+to+single+carb+manifold&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS975US978&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Edited March 28, 2022 by BlueSky 1
larrydr Posted March 29, 2022 Author #4 Posted March 29, 2022 @BlueSky,,@campfire12 ,, I know I can make manifold for about $75.00 ...The carb has secondary response system much like the GM Quadrajet carbs have that is used on the small block V8 engines
