Junior Posted February 7, 2022 #1 Posted February 7, 2022 2007 rsv. On right side of engine I noticed anti freeze on each cylinder pooling. I removed cylinder covers and found coolant leaking from plugs ? In each cylinder. Help ! 1
Freebird Posted February 7, 2022 #2 Posted February 7, 2022 Fairly common. That are line freeze plugs. Cheap and easy to change.
Junior Posted February 7, 2022 Author #3 Posted February 7, 2022 Why are they leaking ? How do you pull them out to replace and where do you get replacement ?
Marcarl Posted February 7, 2022 #4 Posted February 7, 2022 They leak because the o-ring gets old, so you will need a new o-ring. I believe they just pull out and the cover holds them in place, but somebody else will have a better insight into that.
vzuden Posted February 8, 2022 #6 Posted February 8, 2022 The thread in the center of the freeze plugs is the same as that on the tip of a spark plug with removable tip. Just thread the spark plug into the freeze plug and pull. 1
Junior Posted February 8, 2022 Author #7 Posted February 8, 2022 Thanks for information. I ordered 4 new plugs.
