highwaystar Posted January 25, 2022 #1 Posted January 25, 2022 I have a question , i just purchased our 2007 RSV and love this bike...did i say that out loud..."love this bike". So the previous owner said he runs no air in the forks as it makes them to stiff and so he runs them without air. My question is that normal for many riders and is it bad for the forks or seals..any input is appreciated as i am in the dark on this one..thanks all.
SpencerPJ Posted January 25, 2022 #2 Posted January 25, 2022 I can not say for a new gen 2007, but my old 83, I ran just enough air to keep pressure on the seals. Basically a little above zero. 1
Marcarl Posted January 25, 2022 #3 Posted January 25, 2022 If there are progressive springs in the front then they suggest no air needed, but i'm with Spencer. 1
M61A1MECH Posted January 25, 2022 #4 Posted January 25, 2022 The factory actually says 0 psi required and 7 psi is the max pressure, you need to use a syringe type pump with a zero loss chuck to add air and make sure both forks have the same pressure. 1
