ajej4780 Posted May 28, 2008 #1 Posted May 28, 2008 Hi all I am sorta new to the site. Just got my first RSTD and I love it. My only complaint atm is that my legs are cooking. I live in south south south Louisiana and I am wondering if anyone can point me to a thread regarding a solution for this. Thanks:225:
Carbon_One Posted May 28, 2008 #2 Posted May 28, 2008 Many of us here have bought the air deflectors that Yamaha sells for these lowers. Here's a link from Yamaha's site -- http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/433/1812/11878/all/1/4607/0/detail.aspx Check some of the on-line vendors for better prices. http://www.mrcycles.com/ http://www.dgy.com/ http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/ http://www.zanottimotor.com/ You could also remove the fork deflectors by the forks and the clear deflectors that attach to the fairing for more air too. Johnh Posted June 3, 2008 #3 Posted June 3, 2008 Highway pegs mounted on the engine guards did the trick for me. When it's cold you're protected. When it's hot hang your feet out and let the wind blow up your pantlegs.
Guest JGorom Posted June 3, 2008 #5 Posted June 3, 2008 I also recommend the Yamaha lowers which allow you to direct air right on to your feet and legs. Expensive, but they look great and do the job.
