FROG MAN Posted May 27, 2008 #1 Posted May 27, 2008 (edited) We patrol the camp about three times a day. This evening at 6:00 pm I turned into the access road and could see a vehicle parked beside the same rose bush that was stole last time. As I drove closer I noticed a woman standing on our road bank. When I got up next to her car she was getting back inside as I drove by I noticed fresh dirt where a rose had been. I done an immediate U-turn and pulled in front of her car and blocked her in. I confronted her and ask her why she just stole my rose bush? She flatly denied stealing it so I took her licensee plate number and told her you got 5 minutes to put it back or I will report this incident. I'll be back in 5 minutes to check it out. I drove the mile home and called MamaMo. She couldn't wait to get home and open up a big can of whoop #!@ on her. When I drove back down the woman was watching from a distance to see if I would return. Sure enough the rose bush was back where it was. Moral of the story is buy your wife a rose once in a while she might leave your neighbors alone. This is a neighbor who drives by every day. Get this she even called me one night to tell me someone may have broken into my camp and just thought I should know. I hope MamaMo is in a better mood when she gets home. I would hate to think I'm leaving for the beach in a week and she is in jail. What would I do with out her at the beach? Fish,Ride the bike, Check out the ladies on the beach! Hmmmmmm? Edited May 27, 2008 by FROG MAN
mini-muffin Posted May 27, 2008 #2 Posted May 27, 2008 Some people got a lot of nerve. Hope you don't have to bail out Ramona. I know she's looking forward to the beach. Margaret
cecdoo Posted May 27, 2008 #3 Posted May 27, 2008 What would I do with out her at the beach? Fish,Ride the bike, Check out the ladies on the beach! Hmmmmmm? Yeah but who is gonna shine up your bike:whistling: Boy that does take alot of nerve, I will never complain about my neighbors again:cool10: Hopefully you embarassed her enough that she wont ever bother you again. Craig
Dano Posted May 27, 2008 #4 Posted May 27, 2008 You know MamaMo got a lot of pent-up frustration about that bush, don'tcha?! I think you should just introduce them to each other and then go out back and work on the bike for awhile............. natural selection of the species should take over then.:stirthepot: Dan Just a thought!!!
Yama Mama Posted May 27, 2008 #5 Posted May 27, 2008 That woman is a thorn in the side of humanity. Glad you caught her. Why can't neighbors just be neighborly. Mama
Redneck Posted May 28, 2008 #6 Posted May 28, 2008 I would just drive up to her place and dig up what I wanted. Maybe a gift of a gallon of gas and a match at 1 am.
Cinderella Posted May 28, 2008 #7 Posted May 28, 2008 twenty lashes with a thorny rose branch............
Missionary Rider Posted May 28, 2008 #8 Posted May 28, 2008 When we lived in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa (were there 12 years) another missionary friend had her rose bush stolen from her front yard. When she went to the nursery to buy a replacement, there was her rose bush. She confronted the owner saying, "Did you steal that bush from my front yard?" He replied, "I don't know. Where do you live?"
juggler Posted May 28, 2008 #9 Posted May 28, 2008 Dang that takes nerve. Stealing rose bushes, getting caught red handed and then lying to your face with the evidence in her car. Good bust!!!!!!!!
ADC Posted May 28, 2008 #10 Posted May 28, 2008 Glad you caught the thief Gerald, that takes nerve.I would be careful about that going to the beach and watching the ladies without Ramona,it could be unhealthy for you. Arthur
FROG MAN Posted May 28, 2008 Author #11 Posted May 28, 2008 Redneck I hate to burn down a piece of history. She lives in the old farm house that once belonged to my grandfather.
hipshot Posted May 28, 2008 #12 Posted May 28, 2008 Redneck I hate to burn down a piece of history. She lives in the old farm house that once belonged to my grandfather. go back and reread mike's post. he didn't MENTION, burning down any buildings! lol just "dig up what you want", when she comes out to confront you, THEN you make a personal donation to HER! don't think i would go THAT far, but i would inform the local leo's, (probably her kinfolks). just jt
Yammer Dan Posted May 28, 2008 #13 Posted May 28, 2008 One less Christmas card to worry about!! I'm sure the local Leo's will note this info.
Redneck Posted May 28, 2008 #14 Posted May 28, 2008 Redneck I hate to burn down a piece of history. She lives in the old farm house that once belonged to my grandfather. You ever hear the term triple s (shoot shovel shut up) she would probably make good fertilizer under that rose bush. Just a thought.
MamaMo Posted May 28, 2008 #15 Posted May 28, 2008 YOU BET I'M MAD. In board daylight too. I think that when someone is so low that they will steal someones flowers that has just been planted that they will STEAL ANYTHING. I'm trying to be good. But was a good thing I was at work and not getting off until midnight. Yes my buddies from the local LEO agency was in last night and they now have the license plate number and will be coming in tonight to let me know who it comes back to. They couldn't believe it. They know the story of the first rose bush. Might Suck to be Her. Hope her insurance etc. is good:whistling:. Nice to Know the local LEO's. They enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Have been inviting them for coffee, tea, or a soda at the place too, told them they might catch us when we are roasting hot dogs and marshmallows too. Asking them to kindly patrol the place when we go on vacation since they do dam patrol next to it anyway and corps property is across the road. Will be watching for the first rose( Climbing America a salmon colored rose)also when passing her house (that is if it doesn't show up at the camp in front of a post that does not have one, a kindly suggestion:whistling:) when we go on 4 wheeler rides.
GigaWhiskey Posted May 28, 2008 #16 Posted May 28, 2008 Wonder why she did not just go buy a rose bush. They don't cost that much and not hard to keep going either. Uh, yes I have a few and they are mine. Wifey wont mess with em.
Sweetnothing Posted May 28, 2008 #17 Posted May 28, 2008 Ramona, I have a salmon colored rose bush, and it is beautiful! I think you should keep an eye on her yard and see what she comes up with next!! Also, take pics of your front yard for proof of what you have...just in case! If all else fails....string her up!!:rotf:
dray Posted May 28, 2008 #18 Posted May 28, 2008 hey this is great now you still have the plate # and know she did it did you call the cops and turn her in then take her to court for the cost of all the roses you have lost this year Dray Dont let her off easy im sure your not the first she as done this to.
Yammer Dan Posted May 28, 2008 #19 Posted May 28, 2008 Keep her up there Mamamo. The Warden gets upset when I run over her flowers with the mower. someone else might not get away as easy as I do. I can always get her to believe I didn't know they were there!! Except for that one that was 3 ft tall. She ain't forgot that. Hope she is not in a reading mood today!!
Ozark Posted May 28, 2008 #20 Posted May 28, 2008 That woman is a thorn in the side of humanity. Glad you caught her. Why can't neighbors just be neighborly. Just loved the irony of Yama Mama's reply. Imagine a rose thief being a "Thorn in the side" At least now you know who the bad guy is, or at least one of them. I hope they are sufficiently forwarned.
