These were new. I had wooden shoes when I was a little kid. It takes a while before your feet get used to these wooden shoes (Dutch: 'klompen'). There are still farmers in my village wearing these every day.

All our grandkids and great grandkids have one, just to be able to get their goodies from grandma on Dec 05, Sinterklass.

You're very familiar with the Dutch traditions!

Born in Ermelo, father is from De Krim,  mother was from Naaltwyk maiden name Kuyvenhoven. Came to Canada in 1950, spoke Dutch, as well as English until we left home. Yep! Dutch decent!

Well, today was D-Day part one: battery power back to the bike. Everything worked, no fuses blown, no smoke. Great!

Almost.......

We can't get the cassette out of the cassette player. The cassette is running and we heard some awful 'German Schlagermuzik', but the cassette doesn't come out of the player and the dash says 'Err'.

Is there a way to release the cassette?

(End of the weak is D-Day part two: trying to start the engine!)

Keep it playing, it can't be all bad,,,, and,,,, you may get to like it some! Honestly, can't be of help on that one, unless you want it butchered.

There is a limit to our mental health and listening to this 'music'.....😇. We'll figure it out.

Now there is a double oxymoron, mental and health? and then listening for a Dutchman? There's truth in the figuring out statement though.

'Busy' week next week: 7-day trip to the Alps in Austria with a BMW K1600GT and my BMW K1300GT.

But first: Episode Fourteen. One more to go!
