saddlebum Posted May 11, 2021 #1 Posted May 11, 2021 (edited) I while back there was a thread revolving around carriyng spare fuel. I was watching itch boots when I noticed she is using bag type fuel bladders during her currant trip through South Africa, so I did some on line searches and found some interesting info. Here are two links to two of the site I found. Thought it very interesting. Nice thing is you can nicely back them away when empty yet still have them on hand should you suddenly need them to go for fuel. https://www.giantloopmoto.com/product/gas-bag-fuel-safe-bladder/ https://www.frontaer.com/extra-motorcycle-fuel-tanks/ Edited May 13, 2021 by saddlebum 1
Shaw Posted May 12, 2021 #2 Posted May 12, 2021 Nice! I carried a filled 2 gallon gas can on the pillion seat for my trip, would it be advisable to keep gas bag filled in the top box?

I don’t know if I’d keep it in the top box but my thought looking at some of those is to strap it to the luggage rack. 1
XV1100SE Posted May 12, 2021 #4 Posted May 12, 2021 Some options for canisters and bladders - https://adventuremotorcycle.com/gear/motorcycle-auxiliary-fuel-tanks These ones are shaped to fit inside your saddlebags - https://www.reda.co/reda-gas-can Good comparison of the different types here - https://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/shopping-guides/how-to-carry-extra-fuel-on-a-motorcycle 1
luvmy40 Posted May 12, 2021 #5 Posted May 12, 2021 The Reda cans have been out of stock for a couple years now. I have not checked at any HD dealers but a local performance shop that used to sell them said they can't get them any more.
MonsterBiker Posted May 13, 2021 #7 Posted May 13, 2021 I just strapped a gas can to the cooler mount on the trailer.
