Guest DREBBIN Posted March 5, 2007 #1 Posted March 5, 2007 As near as I can gather from threads here, I can use a H7616 bulb to replace the poor bulbs that came in my Yamaha passing lamps. Also if I understand correctly, I see some refere to this bulb as a H3 -- but it is not halogen, right? Bottom line -- I can't find the H7616 at JP cycles. Anyone got another source suggestion? Many thnx, DREBBIN
Tartan Terror Posted March 5, 2007 #2 Posted March 5, 2007 There are only two types, the Sealed beam and the other is a H3.
FreezyRider Posted March 5, 2007 #3 Posted March 5, 2007 According to a search on Google, those are a GE sealed beam lamp very similar to the stock bulbs. They are 37.5 watt, I think the stock passing lamps are 30 or 35 watt, so not much of a difference. You might want to try some of these: http://www.atlantalightbulbs.com/ecart/nw012104/50PAR36.H.SP8.htm I've been considering them. They are 50W each, and are halogens (sealed beam type). These are "narrow spot" type, they have an 8 degree beam spread. They also have a wide spot as well as some very narrow spot (5 degree) beams. If you do try them, let us know how they work out. They sure are priced reasonably.
KeithR Posted March 5, 2007 #4 Posted March 5, 2007 Hi There I kept this link from an old posting about passing lamp bulb replacements. http://www.buylightfixtures.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=451 Hope This Helps Keith
kbran Posted March 5, 2007 #5 Posted March 5, 2007 Check these too http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=f50291fb-213e-4385-a2cb-e6db00522737 From another thread also. Most say they use the 70,000 candle power, the 110,000 candle power is new. Don't know if it would drain power.
Tartan Terror Posted March 5, 2007 #6 Posted March 5, 2007 Hey Drebbin, If they are the sealed beam you can get 70w and 100w from JP Cycles. I just changed over to the adjure tribar lights and took a good set of 70w sealeds out. If you want them PM me an address. Just pay shipping. If they are the H3 type you can get them anywhere.
FreezyRider Posted March 5, 2007 #7 Posted March 5, 2007 Wow, wouldn't a 70 or 100 watt be a drain on the charging system on the RSV? There doesn't seem to be a lot of extra capacity......
FreezyRider Posted March 5, 2007 #8 Posted March 5, 2007 These sure look interesting: http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=9513E017-F48A-4E34-BCF5-5C4E745DBC8B Looks like they could be wired as both low and high beam, just like the headlight. Hmmmmm........ what a concept. Passing lamps that have both low and high beams. I may have to check this out further.
Guest DREBBIN Posted March 5, 2007 #9 Posted March 5, 2007 I thought it was EITHER....OR. Passing lamps were either HALOGEN or SEALED BEAM?? Your help appreciated, confused DREBBIN According to a search on Google, those are a GE sealed beam lamp very similar to the stock bulbs. Tartan Terror Posted March 5, 2007 #10 Posted March 5, 2007 Sorry, My goof. I meant 70,000 Candle or 100,000 Candle. Not Watt.
