loosebiker Posted February 11, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 11, 2021 I blead my rear brakes on 2000 venture now the bleeder screw will not close. Has anyone had this problem? If anyone has dealt with this how did you fix it.
Marcarl Posted February 11, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 11, 2021 I would think that maybe there would be a piece of dirt caught under the screw in the seat. Take the screw, it's actually a valve out, clean the seat with a brush, pump a bit of fluid out and try again. Just my take sitting here.
saddlebum Posted February 11, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 11, 2021 Also check the threads for damage while you have it out being as the caliper is aluminum and the bleeder screw steal it is not uncommon for thread tear or balling to occur if the screw was difficult to back out and so the screw would not go back in properly. luvmy40 Posted February 11, 2021 Share #4 Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) There is a repair for damaged threads in this situation. I've installed a couple on the old HD "Banana" calipers. It's a brass insert with a new bleeder valve. You drill and tap a larger hole and screw the two piece insert into the caliper. They used to available at any auto parts store.
