I would think that maybe there would be a piece of dirt caught under the screw in the seat. Take the screw, it's actually a valve out, clean the seat with a brush, pump a bit of fluid out and try again. Just my take sitting here.

Also check the threads for damage while you have it out being as the caliper is aluminum and the bleeder screw steal it is not uncommon for thread tear or balling to occur if the screw was difficult to back out and so the screw would not go back in properly.

There is a repair for damaged threads in this situation. I've installed a couple on the old HD "Banana" calipers. It's a brass insert with a new bleeder valve. You drill and tap a larger hole and screw the two piece insert into the caliper. They used to available at any auto parts store.
