Kybronco Posted January 26, 2021 #1 Posted January 26, 2021 Hi guys ! I just saw a YouTube video with Jerry Paladino advertising drop guards for Harleys . Are there similar products for the venture 1300 midnight star? I haven’t had it long but I already dropped it in the garage and I’m unsteady with the massive weight of the bike. Just don’t want to damage anything if I can avoid it. Thanks!
Pro procrastinator Posted January 26, 2021 #2 Posted January 26, 2021 Fort nine or summit racing has crash bars Btw wasnt there a 5 dollar fee for actually admitting to dropping a venture? Assuming theres pics to back up the story 1
RDawson Posted January 26, 2021 #3 Posted January 26, 2021 Not on topic but Hey Kybronco, not many of us bluegrassers on here. I’m at the west end of the state but have a daughter at UK Med school closer to ya.
Kybronco Posted January 26, 2021 Author #4 Posted January 26, 2021 No pics of the deed lol but I did have to ask my wife to help me get it back up . That was enough shame for one day!

RDawson Posted January 28, 2021 #7 Posted January 28, 2021 I read right across it. Now thanks to you I have an image burned into my brain I could’ve done without. 😩😩😩 1
Pro procrastinator Posted January 29, 2021 #8 Posted January 29, 2021 Scarred for life. Thanks circa where do i send the therapy bills?
Pro procrastinator Posted February 1, 2021 #9 Posted February 1, 2021 Ive never dealt with them but chromecruisers out of the uk has some guards for the saddle bags Think they have a ebay site as well
Kybronco Posted February 5, 2021 Author #10 Posted February 5, 2021 Don’t know if you guys ever saw his videos but these bolt onto the bend in the crash bars and stop it from laying completely over and doing more damage. But the ones he showed are for Harley. Just wondering if someone makes them for our Yamahas.
Pro procrastinator Posted February 6, 2021 #11 Posted February 6, 2021 Have to get to know your local harley dealer and see if they would have a set on hand that you could try. Otherwise a machine shop could make them up but at what cost i couldn't guess.

Flyinfool Posted February 6, 2021 #13 Posted February 6, 2021 Do you have anny kind of pics of what you want, does not sound hard to make. ps I read the same thing @circa1968 did..... I guess dirty old men think alike...
Kybronco Posted February 7, 2021 Author #14 Posted February 7, 2021 Here’s the video with the product I was thinking about. I didn’t know if something like that is available for the Yamaha.
cimmer Posted February 9, 2021 #15 Posted February 9, 2021 https://motorcycledropguards.com/ Looks like it is for Harley and Indians only at this time.. Rick F.
Flyinfool Posted February 10, 2021 #16 Posted February 10, 2021 From the video it looks like it might be possible to make those, in a home shop if you have a lathe and/or milling machine. Yes a machine hop could do it but for a one off set it would be expensive. Be easiest to do on CNC machines but still possible manual machining. You would have to get the specific dimensions needed to fit your bike.
luvmy40 Posted February 10, 2021 #17 Posted February 10, 2021 (edited) I'm going to try to remember to take some measurements when I get home this evening. With the possible exception of the lower fairings being in the way, I'd bet these drop guards will fit the Gen 2. Their website states they will fit some Yamahas, probably the Star line, maybe the Royal Star as well. They do, also state they will not fit the HD lineup that has lower fairings in place.
