N3FOL Posted January 21, 2021 #3 Posted January 21, 2021 I also read this in the news last week and from what I saw on the pic, the building is already engulfed in flames. Did the building have any sprinkler system and/or a fire alarm system? I just don't know...Having said that, people in that part of the world will never be able to see them in person and enjoy history.
Flyinfool Posted January 22, 2021 #4 Posted January 22, 2021 From the pics I could find, IF there was a sprinkler system it was very well hidden, but with all of the exposed ducting and electrical I would think a sprinkler would also have be incorporated into the architectural design. Not all building codes require sprinklers. As for an alarm? No way to tell. Have to wait to see if they ever determine a cause that is made public.
