VentureFar Posted November 27, 2020 #1 Posted November 27, 2020 I had to replace my fuel pump points at only 18,000 miles. They were literally burned down to nubs. That was about 2015. Now have 46,000 miles and they have stopped working. They still look "square" and not burned out but they are not doing the clickety clack at all. Is it always, 100% of the time, the points and never the rest of the mechanism that is the issue with these stock fuel pumps? Thanks for the quick reply. Need to get parts ordered asap. VentureFar...

VentureFar... Does the pump have power? Fuel relay will only supply power for about 10 seconds till Engine Startup is detected. Then power is on all the time. Does fuel relay have power and then does power make it to pump. Is the fuel petcock on? If you are vacuum locked the pump will not pump. Same goes for pinched fuel lines. Points are bad. With bad point ...well... you already know that. These are the main things with the fuel pump. There is the service manual on here that has the full diags steps.
VentureFar Posted November 28, 2020 Author #3 Posted November 28, 2020 Thanks. Will check the power to the pump. VentureFar...
