N3FOL Posted November 17, 2020 #2 Posted November 17, 2020 That was a lot of work to restore a lighter. Nice video. 2
Patch Posted November 17, 2020 Author #3 Posted November 17, 2020 True but think of the significance of the piece, its falling point in history. 1
N3FOL Posted November 17, 2020 #4 Posted November 17, 2020 It didn't mention where was the lighter found. Any idea where?
Condor Posted November 18, 2020 #5 Posted November 18, 2020 Nice job, but... patina means a lot on something historical. Rather than restore it to working condition and making it look like a bunch of other reproductions I'd let it sit in a mixture of 1:1 white vinegar and water to clean off the corrosion and leave it alone rather than torching it and sand blasting,,, My 2 cents...
Patch Posted November 18, 2020 Author #6 Posted November 18, 2020 It shows a map in the first 16 sec.
N3FOL Posted November 19, 2020 #7 Posted November 19, 2020 Normandy. That is for sure a keeper. With the condition it was when it was found and to see the finished product is just impressive. The guy in the video truly has skills.
