Yamaha black

My bike is black with the silver and grey pinstripes, iam having to repaint the tank and my question is; Do I have to use Yamaha black or will any standard gloss black work,like Dupli color universal black?

Take it to an automotive paint store, they can match it. Using factory paint on an older bike/car won’t match because of fade. Match what you have and it’ll never show. There are multiple shades of gloss black from different manufacturers.

I had the front fender of my royal star painted Yamaha black and discovered that there are different shades depending on the year. Just a heads up.
