Prairiehammer Posted November 5, 2020 #1 Posted November 5, 2020 What is the wire gauge of the negative, positive and starter cable on the RSV?
Marcarl Posted November 10, 2020 #2 Posted November 10, 2020 Really couldn't tell you, seeing as I don't have one of those. but @cowpuc or @Flyinfool might have an idea.
Flyinfool Posted November 12, 2020 #3 Posted November 12, 2020 I am Guessing the RSV has bigger cables that the 1st gens since I have never heard of slow cranking issues. When we replaced cables on the 1st gen we used #4 welding cable. Since it is essentially the same battery starter and engine I would think 4ga should work well on the RSV also. But like I said, I am guessing.
Prairiehammer Posted November 12, 2020 Author #4 Posted November 12, 2020 Thanks, Jeff. Your thoughts match mine. The reason I inquired about the battery cables, etal; was that I see RSV (and RSTD) battery cables from various eBay sellers for $4- $6 dollars SHIPPED! I figured that for that kind of money one could upgrade the First Generation cables real cheaply, IF the RSV cables were in fact larger. The lengths of the cables are different from the First Gen, but I don't think that is a real problem; (the RSV cables are longer).
