paperboy Posted May 23, 2008 #1 Posted May 23, 2008 How big of a job is it? I know you have take the weight off the shock. Is the spring going to cause a problem reinserting the bolts? I've read the procedure somewhere here before but can't seem to find it. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ponch Posted May 23, 2008 #2 Posted May 23, 2008 PB, see link below for install instructions. Its really a piece of cake. Just raise the bike enough to get the weight off the rear tire, but with tire touching floor. I didn't have to remove the AIS valve or anything. Bolts are easy to reach. Mariner Fan Posted May 23, 2008 #3 Posted May 23, 2008 Paperboy, I'm waiting for my links and should see them in the next couple of days. It looks easy enough. Just a matter of unbolting and bolting the new ones on. I've heard it only takes a half hour.
Little Bob Posted May 24, 2008 #4 Posted May 24, 2008 Hey Guys, It`s a piece of cake. Took me less than 20 minutes to do mine. Like what was said above take a little weight of the back tire and bam out they come and in they go. :080402gudl_prv:
flb_78 Posted May 24, 2008 #5 Posted May 24, 2008 Does anyone have a set of factory links they would not mind letting go of? I'd let to pick up a set to play with.
Jerry W Posted May 24, 2008 #6 Posted May 24, 2008 Forrest, I am thinking about lowering the back of my bike to make it easier to step over since I added the backrest. If I do this, I will have a set of factory links. Does anyone have a set of factory links they would not mind letting go of? I'd let to pick up a set to play with.
Monsta Posted May 26, 2008 #7 Posted May 26, 2008 I have a set on my workbench. Pay for shipping and I'll mail them Tuesday. They should fit in a Flat Rate box. $8.95 or so.
