friendrobert Posted August 26, 2020 #1 Posted August 26, 2020 I am replacing both lower throttle cables. On the pull side is a brass barrel about1 1/4" above the connecting barrel on the bottom of the cable. Can anyone tell me what it is for?
Marcarl Posted August 26, 2020 #2 Posted August 26, 2020 That would be a return stop so that the cables can only return so far and no further. It provides the stop you feel at the throttle grip when the grip returns to idle and so provides a home-base if you will.
friendrobert Posted August 26, 2020 Author #3 Posted August 26, 2020 So, in effect it is "non-essential"?
Marcarl Posted August 26, 2020 #4 Posted August 26, 2020 So, in effect it is "non-essential"? Absolutely not!!! very essential in fact. Otherwise those cheapskates would not have put it on.
friendrobert Posted August 26, 2020 Author #5 Posted August 26, 2020 I'm rebuilding mine using the old cases and that piece is APIA.
