CaseyJ955 Posted August 23, 2020 #1 Posted August 23, 2020 I've been noticing this on CL for awhile now and thought you guys might get a kick out of it. I have no idea who's it is, I figure at this price he will probably own it forever, but it's pretty cool, esp for the HD partial among us. Aside from engine choice and placement it reminds me of an old 7. My first thought was, spin that transaxle around and mid-mount a GL1800 mill in it with F1 style header/collectors. Kudos to the builder, sure dont see this sort of thing around often. https://rapidcity.craigslist.org/mcy/d/rapid-city-custom-built-racer/7173096743.html
tufftom4 Posted August 23, 2020 #2 Posted August 23, 2020 That is neat looking and I would like to take it for a ride but I am not paying 25,000 for it.
Freebird Posted August 23, 2020 #3 Posted August 23, 2020 He did a nice job. I wouldn't pay the price but do like it.
RDawson Posted August 23, 2020 #4 Posted August 23, 2020 I’ve often thought of building a more modern looking Indycar using a chevy 4 cylinder with a cockpit 2seat setup. Think it’d be a blast to drive up to the DQ.
BlueSky Posted August 23, 2020 #5 Posted August 23, 2020 No dilly dallying in traffic or the engine will overheat since it doesn't have water cooling or a fan like most other air cooled engine powered cars. I'm sure I'm too old to fit in that sucker!
CaseyJ955 Posted August 23, 2020 Author #6 Posted August 23, 2020 I've never seen it on the street, just on CL. Pretty cool indeed. It's been listed for quite a while now. I have no doubt he has 25k worth of fabrication and parts, if not more. If he did it right he probably has a good chunk of that just into the engine/trans. Sadly, what we often discover is that the $$$$$$ we shovel into cars and bikes is not recovered when it's time to sell, sometimes quite the opposite. Still it's cool and unique, fun to see.
djh3 Posted August 25, 2020 #7 Posted August 25, 2020 Morgan I think it is makes one of those in kind of a indy racer looking motifs.
