jryan Posted July 18, 2020 #1 Posted July 18, 2020 Put in new plugs today & verified gaps. Did a 10 mile test ride & bike ran great! I then pulled those plugs to check condition & they seemed good with white tips. I did notice the threads on the left side plugs were oily...while the right side threads were clean. Is this normal? ok? Or what would it signify?
BlueSky Posted July 18, 2020 #2 Posted July 18, 2020 I wonder if that has anything to do with the bike leaning left while on the kickstand?
Flyinfool Posted July 18, 2020 #3 Posted July 18, 2020 Maybe a valve cover leak? the oil would find the lowest point, the spark plug hole.
Patch Posted July 18, 2020 #4 Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) not yet it is too early to think past the flooding effects she just went thru. tho check the oil for reducing caused by gas migrating down the jugs.... Edited July 20, 2020 by Patch
jryan Posted July 19, 2020 Author #5 Posted July 19, 2020 not yet it is too early to think past the flooding effects she just went thru. tho check the oil for ruding caused by gas migrating down the jugs.... I drained out some oil & it looked & smelled normal...but I'm thinking of just doing an oil change anyways.
Patch Posted July 20, 2020 #6 Posted July 20, 2020 After any flooding oil change is expected. The word should have read (reducing). The thinner the oil the more creep it tends to have. Just as a side bar: the viscosity and tolerances have effect on pressure as well as cushioning
