SaltyDawg Posted May 20, 2008 #1 Posted May 20, 2008 Saw this picture today online and I honestly don't think it's fake. It is amazing though that it got snapped at such a perfect time. From the story the guy ended up with a fractured pelvis.
Sleeperhawks Mechanic Posted May 20, 2008 #3 Posted May 20, 2008 Talk about being in the right place at the right time to get a picture!
Ozark Posted May 20, 2008 #4 Posted May 20, 2008 Amazing timing for a great picture. From the position he is in just prior to smacking the water, I'm surprised all he got was a fractured pelvis!!
mraf Posted May 20, 2008 #5 Posted May 20, 2008 Amazing he had time to remove his helmet, googles and one shoe!:rotfl:
dray Posted May 20, 2008 #6 Posted May 20, 2008 I could be wrong but the shoe in the air dont match the one hes wareing and the paint brush beteen him and the shoe makes me think its a photo shop pic dray
BuddyRich Posted May 20, 2008 #7 Posted May 20, 2008 Well, I just wondering where the capsule is if there was one. The other boat has a shadow. But the one in the air doesn't seem to have a shadow. Although it shows the part of the boat facing you to be dark and not lit up by the bright sunlight.
kantornado Posted May 20, 2008 #8 Posted May 20, 2008 I thought you where addressing me??:rotfl: Well I can not walk on water, But I am working on it............:rotf: It is a pretty neat photo shop......................Ron
SaltyDawg Posted May 20, 2008 Author #9 Posted May 20, 2008 Here is the link to the story. Whether it's true or not I leave up to your own thoughts. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,356601,00.html
Guest cwil2988 Posted May 20, 2008 #10 Posted May 20, 2008 I don't understand why he wasn't wearing some type of restraint or harness to keep him in the boat. would think it would be mandatory safety item
BuddyRich Posted May 20, 2008 #11 Posted May 20, 2008 That'd amazing in that case and he lucky he didn't get hurt worse
Sailor Posted May 21, 2008 #13 Posted May 21, 2008 I think it is for real. It is probably one shot out of several per sec shot by an electric or video camera. If you look you can see the scene is back lit and the shadow of the boat is directly under the bow. In the open boats the driver is not wearing a harness because you do not want to be trapped under it when it lands upside down. I have a tape showing a series of these accidents and you would not believe some of the things that happen. There are a few shots of the driver going through the side of the boat. The old jet drive boats used to make an abrupt 90 degree turn when the engine or pump blew. "I can't walk on water, I sink up to my ankles, but I am working on it."
