Dutchtrans Posted June 17, 2020 #1 Posted June 17, 2020 Shalom and greetings: 06 rsv midnight, installed tachometer ( not baron). Green wire to neg side of coil right side above dog bone. Tach is only reading half of actual rpm. According to forum I shouldn't need the adapter as it is carburetorated It is an equus tach.any suggestions? I've read about a dozen threads and still don't see the answer, thanks.
cowpuc Posted June 17, 2020 #2 Posted June 17, 2020 Shalom and greeting right back at you brother... IMHO, Its probably just not calibrated to your V-4 and is calibrated for a two cylinder giving you half the R's that you are looking for.. I would look for a calibration button on the back of the tach.. Turn the ignition key off, hold the calibration button down and turn key back on,, release and then start pushing calibration button until the needle on the tach rises to 2000 rpms. Turn key off and back on to restart bike and check calibration..
