Iowawegian Posted May 19, 2008 #1 Posted May 19, 2008 Hubby and I are new members as of a couple of weeks ago! Started out on a 95 Virago 1100, then bought a V Star a couple of years ago so we could each have our own bike. Hubby traded in the V-Star for 05 Midnight Venture last month. Finding this forum has already been a wealth of info....but my question is for my Virago.... do you know of any place that would have a used, good condition engine guard and highway pegs reasonably priced for it? Saw your posts about the Vroom, vroom. We rode to Wabasha this weekend, jumped the river for a while then came back home. The wind was crazy.....took me all day Sunday to recoupe! 10 hours of fighting that was too much! Thanks for any info.
utadventure Posted May 19, 2008 #2 Posted May 19, 2008 Try the Viragotech.com website. Lots of information and might help you find what you need. Dave

The wind was crazy.....took me all day Sunday to recoupe! 10 hours of fighting that was too much! Thanks for any info. First let me say Welcome. Glad to see a few more folks from Iowa coming on line. If you can swing it, put the 2008 Pork in the Pines on your riding calander. You folks are not that far away, and it's a really great time. Now, as for used case guards. I really don't see them come up for sale too often. Nots available new, but the price is a bit much in my opinion. Will definately let you know if I come acrosss a good buy on a set. As for hiway(sic) pegs, I found that the Kuriakin off set pegs worked best for me. But again, they get a good price for them. If you are interested, I have a set of pegs that I would be willing to let you use until you find the case guard and pegs. The set I have mount to the lower frame. The mounting bracket also sticks out far enough to give you a bit of protection in the event of a roll over. So, if you would like to try them, you are more than welcome. Russell
Iowawegian Posted May 20, 2008 Author #4 Posted May 20, 2008 Thanks for the offer of borrowing your pegs, but I'm a nervous nellie borrowing from people! If I wreck my own stuff, it's one thing...but I don't want to be responsible for ruining someone else's. I'd appreciate you keeping an eye out for anything that would work though. We hope to try and make it to Pork in the Pines. It would be fun to meet everyone! Also, to utadventure...I'll check out the website. Thanks for the replies!

If I wreck my own stuff, it's one thing...but I don't want to be responsible for ruining someone else's. Heck, if I was going to worry about them getting damaged, I wouldn't have made the offer. They are just hanging in the garage, and truth is, I will probably never use them. So, the offer still stands,
Iowawegian Posted May 20, 2008 Author #6 Posted May 20, 2008 if I buy them from you and if you ever want them back, I will send them back to you. I don't ever plan on selling my bike ...cuz it fits me perfectly, easy to handle, pipes sound great and is the most comfy ride!
