Fairing Popouts - possible side markers?

Has anyone else thought that those black popouts on each side of the fairing would make great side marker location? They sit on the sides of fairing, just outside of the upper cubby holes.

What are the popouts for anyhow? They appear to be an engineering after thought. I bet Yamaha got this bike into the wind tunnel and discovered some bad aero and these were added to fix the problem.

I decided to go a different route for “side marker” Not expensive, dual function and relatively easy to install.

Hey @Chuckles_18GT, I believe according to Yamaha videos concerning the development of the bike that they are a “wind tunnel test” addition. They’re  supposed to help channel some wind away from your hands.

@ChiefGunner where did you find the fork mounted ring light and then the side panel lights?
