Jethroish Posted May 18, 2008 #1 Posted May 18, 2008 (edited) Do you have these? Do you leave them dangling on the locks when not in use? I USED to until today. I was cleaning the bike this evening. Lo and behold, there are numerous marks and nicks in the paint on the truck, right above the locks. They now have a permanent place in my truck if not hanging a helmet. So, if you have them hanging, you might want to check and take them off. If you don't have them, take heed. Edited May 30, 2008 by Jethroish
Freebird Posted May 30, 2008 #2 Posted May 30, 2008 I've never used them but have seen others that do. This is the first I've heard of them causing scratches but I can see how it could happen. I just never saw a need for them.
rod Posted May 30, 2008 #3 Posted May 30, 2008 My friend with a Wing has reflective tape stripes on his and leaves them on all the time with no problems. Following him at night you can really see them swaying and reflecting the head lights. Rod
kantornado Posted May 30, 2008 #4 Posted May 30, 2008 I have a pair hanging on the back. I don't use them I just like how they reflect the light and make it just one more safety thing (that's CHROME) I can hang on the bike. People riding behind me say they work pretty good. That's all I needed to know...................Ron

VTirelli Posted May 31, 2008 #7 Posted May 31, 2008 Use mine all the time and don'thave any scratches either.
Jethroish Posted May 31, 2008 Author #8 Posted May 31, 2008 Use mine all the time and don'thave any scratches either. Maybe I just got a light weight pair of lock extensions that flap in the wind. Oh well.
