Dbarbee Posted May 14, 2020 #1 Posted May 14, 2020 My 2005 RSV had a Baron's rear lowering kit and a shorter kickstand installed when I bought it. I've removed the lowering kit and installed the correct caliper bracket and kickstand but I'm wondering if the front has been lowered. Is there a way to tell if the front have been lowered without disassembling the front end? (measurements, clearances, pictures, etc.) Thanks!
cecdoo Posted May 14, 2020 #2 Posted May 14, 2020 Look at top of forks where schrader valve is. That top should be flush with tree, if the fork is thru and sticking up above tree, it has been lowered. If its sticking up 3/4" its been lowered that amt. Hope this helps. No need to dis-assemble anything, no tools required. Craig
Woody Posted May 15, 2020 #3 Posted May 15, 2020 also check the front tire size, sometimes a smaller tire is used to lower the front.

Woody, good point but I had both tires replaced when I bought it so I know they're both OEM size. (I didn't even think to see what size was on it when I bought it)
Woody Posted May 16, 2020 #5 Posted May 16, 2020 I did the lowering of the Christmas tree on mine and it was like adding power steering in a parking lot situation, made slow maneuvering much easier.
