Flash105 Posted May 13, 2020 #1 Posted May 13, 2020 Rode my new bike today and it does pretty good until in goes into high gear, then it seems to be starving for fuel, misfirring, or maybe needs a carb adjustment. 65 was top speed in overdrive, shift down one and it starts pulling again!! Any suggestions will be appreciated. I have drained the old fuel and replaced with new non ethanol along with half a can of sea-foam!!! Also changed the plugs!! Still having issues.
RedRider Posted May 15, 2020 #3 Posted May 15, 2020 Have you replaced the fuel filter? Kind of a pain to get to, but not hard to do. RR
steamer Posted May 18, 2020 #4 Posted May 18, 2020 sounds like your not hitting on all 4 cyl. these bikes will run pretty good on 3 cyl. until you get up to high speed. another thing to check is you air filters, did a mouse make a home in one of them over the winter? this has happen to a few folks here in the past. check all the easy thing first. you said it is a new to you bike, how long has it been sitting before you got it? how many miles on it? has it been sitting all winter with un-treated gas in it? did you ride it with old gas in it?
