I woke up today with a call from my friend Sean. He wanted to take the physical test for his motorcycle endorsement and asked if I'd go along. I said sure, but there was another reason that I wanted to ride.

This was the first time that Ruth joined me for a ride. I was kinda nervous but she proved to be a great co-rider. We rode to the testing area in Elwood Indiana and ended up running into a friend of ours. He was there to take the test as well. John has been riding bikes since the early 70's but has never held an endorsement. I guess he has to get one now that he owns a bike that has to be insured.

You guys that did the Warsaw ride will remember Sean and John.

We all stood around and chatted and saw an amazing thing. A dude on a Suzuki Boulevard did the drill were you accelerate then hit the brakes in a specified spot. He hit the brakes alright and locked them up falling to his right. His head hit the pavement and the bike slid out from under him. Everything got quiet and I ran over to see if he was ok. He was not hurt but man, talk about embarrassing. Wiping out with 20 bikers watching you doing a straight line stop.

After the show, we rode to Max Pitts Yamaha and checked out the bikes. Sean is thinking about a Venture but is concerned that it's too much bike for him. I'm really hoping that he goes for it and joins us here in Ventureriders!

Oh yea,

While I was waiting for Sean to take the test I ran into another Venture Rider. He was a newby and had just bought the bike. I know I should have gotten his name but I didn't .
