Really lovi'n this thread you started Patch. Really makes me wish I had the patience to put stuff like this together on a USB stick or Phone so I could play it through my truck motorcycle or portable radio. Its so hard to find these good old tunes on the plain old FM radio anymore. Keep her up buddy.

Thanks Bum, Puc! You know it was Fool that showed me last year how to do it in the chat room! We spoke about it last evening over my data concerns for loading the thread; he assured me that its just a link so little data demands for the forum!

You know this is so far the only thread I haven't gottin into trouble with in a long time

 

I got the idea from Dad while he was a holding open the door for me, Carl I think thinks it is a calming therapy for me!? Those two really get me lol

I'll ask the boys how I can convert the list of video links to just tunes then load it to a chip, see if I can make it available thru the club.

 

I couldn't match your Tune Puc but, I did find this video from the Cash show as an suitable offering

Thanks for the memories, Patch. The clip from American Graffiti brought back many memories. I have '34 five window coupe, gold colored, very similar to the one in the movie and have had it for about 40 years. One summer Saturday night, one my buddies came over with his black '55 Chevy. We invited a couple of young ladies to cruise with us. We weren't on the main thoroughfare through downtown, side by side, more than a block before we had a police cruiser right behind us

We took it easy and didn't do anything crazy but just continued to the local drive-in theater where the American Graffiti movie was playing. Of course, we just had to circle throughout the parking area and rev our engines a little!

In Montreal where I grew up we had street drags every Friday night, in those days I ran a Torino.

They would let us race over in the warehousing district we called West Island for 3ish hours.

Then they would swoop down line us up and then measure out the cars we raced. If the mods were still legal they would then line us up and escort us to the Trans Canada H.W. and turn us loose!

If any of us spun out on the way we would be fined $10. a foot of patch lol, their way of saying enough!

YA those were da days!

Eh guys: this video posting I must say up front is not an easy watch/view.

Is it worth your time? Well only the end of it will answer that very personal summery.

Why post it? Well sometimes life has a way of finding and shaping the innocent wide eyed boy into a machine before becoming or earning the right to just live as a man.

I don’t see a hero in this video at all, scared kit, wrong place wrong time, yep.

What I do know tho is I see, feel and sense his fear; that said I must admit that he proved a brave kid growing against his natural grain. To me at least I understand what I think as of this interview he had not completely processed: that of bravery in the face of uncertainty and even as he describes, a complete carious.

One thing I and am sure many of you know of, is adrenaline has a very narrow field and focus; it not only masks pain but the actual events details are denied and lost.

During the interview it is easy to see how time placed him in situation after situation till that point at which there was but one thing left; accept who you must now be.

As a result we here a story filled with shadows shredded by daylight and the mixed realization that you survived and must admit to what others believe is a normal life free of the unspeakable memories, that haunt…

A strange summery of what is asked of those that must (in the day) serve.

As a young fellow I learned these by heart…

 

We the willing serving the ungrateful

Have done so much for so little

We are now qualified to do anything for nothing.

Not sure how to comment on that Patch, at least not without getting lost in what some would call religion. Definitely a great description of what a life is for a Vet, before, during and after the fight. I am sure that war effect our society is more than what most of us would think,,, but then on the other side, if we just let evil take over wherever it would, life wouldn't be great either I'm sure. Got to be very thankful for the fighters that encircle the globe to attempt to stop evil from taking over, and to help the repressed, I sure am grateful for that, even though sometimes I wonder what evil they are trying to stop, when it was being replaced with just another evil. I'm just not sure how I would take dealing with all the death and dying that our war people have to deal with, as they go through the desecration of the image of their Creator. Amazing that he was willing and able to give his testimony.

For myself my comment to the video really is what I saw, felt and took away from his shared experience.

Wow Patch!!, talk about a serious strole through the past!. I am primarily a Jazz fusion Musician. back in the id 70s through the 90s, when I wasnt with the primary Band, I would farm out to whoever was paying the best chunk of cheese, preferably touring with mid level wannabes.

I have played most of these tunes many many times. When I sot down to my Keys, unless someone else is present, I never know whats gonna come.

The song that does show up the most is by the Beatles version of I get by with a little help from my Friends.

CW to Funk, Hard core Jazz, Nashville Blues. sometimes I play NOTHING. Nothing means a bunch os what ever I see in the dark. I take a lot of meds for pain, 127 broken bones, 5 heart attacks 6 abilitations, most recently my head exploded last October central brain ruptured aneurysm.

A lady found this on you tube and wanted to add speech to it so ZI let her have at it.

I play stuff like this in the middle of the night, Cant sleep cuz I hurt so bad only the unthinkable offers relief and we aint going there. so I play crazy. I just let my hands run off. in this case it turned out to be classical. I plan to give a listen to everyone of these posts you got up here.

Great Work seems spiritual in nature more than just a list of songs, Outstanding Brother.

Well I like it very much!

Its not perfect but that is what appears when you play from the heart and soul, refining comes later maybe
