Hand Grip Length

Looking for some help.. Kuryaken said their Universal Thresher Grips would work on my 1986 Venture Royale, 7/8 inch size.. Part Number 5950. I got them today but they seem to be almost 1 inch too short at 5 inches in length.. My throttle sleeve on the bike appears to be just about 6 inches.

 

Anyone encountered the same or have a solution or alternative>?

My experience is its always a somethin and I just adjust accordingly by moving things.

 

I always use the largest grips possible on my touring toys so I accept that I will need to mod up a bit.

thanks for your input.. but how long is a normal grip for this bike.. ? I have read that goldwing grips are the right ones as well.. Anyone else ??

The First Generation grip is indeed longer than most at about 6¾". And yes, grips marketed for the Honda GL1500 and GL1800 are a perfect fit for the Venture.
