I was not trying to say we had our own private group, just that there is at least 10 members on this site from the City of Kitchener. Last year there was 5 of us that all went to Colorado and had a great time. On the return trip we all talked about hosting a similar event for all of you. We are planning on having a good time and it is too bad you will not be able to make it. Any time you want to come up let us know and I am sure we would do our best to accomadate you. Brad
MAINEAC Posted May 25, 2008 #53 Posted May 25, 2008 Thanks for the offer... Same back to ya... If any of you guys wander over here to Maine gimme a yell... I know you Canadians Love Old Orchard Beach... I'm about 120 miles up the coast.
ken Posted May 25, 2008 #54 Posted May 25, 2008 I've seen some talk about issues crossing the border. Crossing into Canada is a peice of cake. Crossing back into the US is where you run into issues. Just make sure you have a passport OR a photo ID AND your birth cert. I cross every week with no real problem. If you're crossing from Michigan cross at the Blue Water Bridge and not at the Detroit/Windsor crossing. There is a lot a construction going on at the Detroit crossing and it can be a little bit of a pain in the a$$. Plus the view from the top of the Blue Water Bridge is breath taking. The view alone is worth the trip. Unfortunately I can't attend. With the US economy the way it is, the AM Axle strike causing all the GM shut downs has really taken a toll on my wallet. Maybe next year. Oh ya 200 mile or 2000 miles does it really matter.
nkbjones Posted June 8, 2008 #55 Posted June 8, 2008 Does anyone have a hotel room at Victoria or Sherwood that they want to share to cut costs down? My son (9) and I are planning on arriving on Sunday the 6th and planning on staying until Thursday or Friday. If your interested let me know. I may end up trying to camp at Bingemans if no one wants to split a hotel room.
