BlueSky Posted April 14, 2020 #1 Posted April 14, 2020 I have my motorcycle insurance with Geico. I got an email informing me that new policies or existing policies that renew between April 8 and Oct 7 will get a 15% reduction in the price of their policies. Since mine renewed yesterday, I qualify. Just thought I would pass on the information.
slowrollwv Posted April 14, 2020 #2 Posted April 14, 2020 I renew my auto policy on May 1. My renewal will drop about $30.00 per months on 4 autos, 3 of them are full coverage. I have Allstate.
luvmy40 Posted April 14, 2020 #3 Posted April 14, 2020 My insurance Co.(not Geico) is also issuing a dividend discount of 25% this year.
uncledj Posted April 14, 2020 #4 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) I'm insured through Progressive....as of now, they're giving us back JACK CRAP....Guess they need the $$$ for all those commercials. Edited April 15, 2020 by uncledj
Flyinfool Posted April 14, 2020 #5 Posted April 14, 2020 I got my $50 per vehicle check from American Family Insurance yesterday.
N3FOL Posted April 14, 2020 #6 Posted April 14, 2020 Got the same email as well. I'll take any discount from GEICO. Drive and Ride Safe.
djh3 Posted April 15, 2020 #7 Posted April 15, 2020 I have Progressive. Got on the text message thing with someone today to ask about refund everyone is talking about. It will be applied at end of May. But at this time they are not applying it to motorcycles.
BlueSky Posted April 15, 2020 Author #8 Posted April 15, 2020 Doesn't Warren Buffet's fund own Geico and Progressive?
DanielM Posted April 15, 2020 #9 Posted April 15, 2020 Doesn't Warren Buffet's fund own Geico and Progressive?GEICO is a wholey owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway (Buffet's company). Progressive is an independant publicly traded company. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
cwtart Posted April 15, 2020 #10 Posted April 15, 2020 I use Markel - far cheaper than Geico, Progressive, or any others I could find. I pay a total of $383.00 per year for two motorcycles: $251.00 per year for my new Triumph and $132.00 per year for my 2008 RSV That price includes a $500 deductable per bike and $3000 accessory coverage per bike. Of course, I get the Old Fart discount.
BlueSky Posted April 15, 2020 Author #11 Posted April 15, 2020 Insurance cost varies from state to state because of the weather affecting the riding season. My WI bike insurance was much less than when I brought the bike back to NC. But, I don't doubt your Geico comparison. I just buy liability and the state controls that rate. But I had Geico for my autos for a short while and they were the worst I've used for jacking up the rates at every renewal.
djh3 Posted April 16, 2020 #12 Posted April 16, 2020 I have found on the bike about every 3 years I have to go shop because they have jacked the rates up. Had Geico and 3 years they went up like 150, so went to someone else, I forget now, then 3 years later same deal then went to Dairyland, now Progressive.
Snaggletooth Posted April 16, 2020 #13 Posted April 16, 2020 I got my $50 per vehicle check from American Family Insurance yesterday. Yep. Same here. Good enough for me.
Du-Rron Posted April 17, 2020 #15 Posted April 17, 2020 Full Coverage on 2012 RSV @ Actual Cash Value is $161.00 per year from MARKEL insurance THAT'S $14.00 PER MONTH FOR A YEAR!
