Pasta Burner Posted March 28, 2020 #1 Posted March 28, 2020 Hi all new here. Just thought I’d throw this out there, might help me get some history of the bike. Might also help someone figure out what ever happened to their bike.
Marcarl Posted March 28, 2020 #2 Posted March 28, 2020 I like them, first time I laid eyes on them though.
Pasta Burner Posted March 29, 2020 Author #3 Posted March 29, 2020 I'll probably Keep White Fang. Thats what I decided to name this steed. But the names on the back are gonna have to go.
Pasta Burner Posted March 29, 2020 Author #5 Posted March 29, 2020 Stickers. See Puc, he can probably hook ya up. These are painted on. Looks like something that would have been done while traveling / vacationing.
XV1100SE Posted March 29, 2020 #6 Posted March 29, 2020 If it is pinstriping or paint....use oven cleaner on them. That's how I took some pinstriping off my bike.
Pasta Burner Posted March 29, 2020 Author #7 Posted March 29, 2020 If it is pinstriping or paint....use oven cleaner on them. That's how I took some pinstriping off my bike. I saw a vid on YouTube using laquer thinner, it worked a little but not a lot. Then I saw oven cleaner. Gonna try that today.
XV1100SE Posted March 29, 2020 #8 Posted March 29, 2020 I did a search for members with the name "Lonnie" and searched posts. Found this post for a "Lonnie" in UT. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?75363-powder-coat&p=735378#post735378 Skinney's Restorations in Orem UT,run by Lonnie Woodard (loonair@hotmail.com) Seeing as how you are in UT....and Lonnie isn't that common a name....I would say he is the likely former owner.

Thanks! Seems like this bike has passed through quite a few hands, The previous two owners were in Logan, but in the saddle bag came a box of gaskets (gotta look up the PN to see what they’re for) from a name and address in Layton where I’m at. But wasn’t Lonnie or Aileen. on another note sorry to Lonnie an Aileen but I successfully removed the artwork from the trunk lid using easy off. Wax is currently drying. Nice that I already had the trunk off and can do this on my kitchen counter while watching Ferris Bueller’s day off.
saddlebum Posted March 30, 2020 #10 Posted March 30, 2020 I saw a vid on YouTube using laquer thinner, it worked a little but not a lot. Then I saw oven cleaner. Gonna try that today. I have used oven cleaner for years and it has always worked. You have to be careful with lacquer thinner. It can damage some painted surfaces depending on the type of paint.
